5 STEPS TO KNOWING JESUS
To know Jesus is to know life. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6, KJV). Jesus is the only one that defined life in absolute terms. Attempt by the dictionary to define life ends up describing it. Through out human existence, Jesus is the only one that emphatically said He is life. Knowing Jesus is to have salvation in God. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men (Titus 3:11, KJV). But many neither know nor recognise the salvation freely given by Jesus. These five simple steps will help you to obtain Salvation through Jesus Christ.
STEP 1RECOGNISE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23, KJV). Every human being born to this world has at one time or the other done wrong. This what God describes as sin. In fact, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1John 1:8, KJV). Anyone that has committed at least one sin is a sinner. You need to admit that you are a sinner because not only have you committed one sin, you have committed many.
STEP 2 ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU CAN NOT HELP YOUR SELF
There is no other way by which your sins could be forgiven. Jesus is the only one who forgives sin. No religious leader has ever promised to forgive sins. You can also attest that in your present effort to come out of sin, the more you tried, the more you get hooked up. Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:10 -12, KJV).
STEP 3 BELIEVE THAT JESUS CAN FORGIVE ALL YOUR SINS
Jesus is the only one that has power to forgive sins. But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house (Matthew 9:6, KJV). To receive this forgiveness, you must believe that Jesus can forgive you all Your sins. You must also be willing to receive this unconditional forgiveness from Jesus.
STEP 4 REPENT OF ALL YOUR SINS AND ASK JESUS TO FORGIVE YOU
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19, KJV). Determine now in your heart that you are not going to continue on all the wrong doings you know you have been engaged in. Some of them are sinful to God while others are sinful both to God and man. For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death (2 Corinthians 7:10, KJV). God expects you to be sorrowful over each and every one of the sins you have identified in your life.
STEP 5 CONSCIOUSLY ASK JESUS TO BE YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR
Since you have recognised that you are a sinner and admitted that your present effort can not help; having believed that Jesus can save you and you have identified your sins and repented of them now you need to confess Jesus and consciously ask him to come into your life as your Lord and Saviour. If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9, KJV). That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom 10: 9 -10, KJV).
Lord Jesus, I come unto you as a sinner. I have sinned against God and against man. But now, I come unto you in absolute repentance. Please forgive me oh Lord. Lord Jesus I consciously invite you into my life as my Lord and my Saviour. I believe that you died for me and rose up again on the third day. I cancel every covenant that I made or was made on my behalf. I enter into the covenant of our Lord Jesus Christ today. In Jesus name. Amen!
